The Edge
We all want to be competitive in everything we do. And no more so that with punting on horse racing.
Success in punting on horses, in fact most things reduces down to an information war - the people with the best information make the smart moves.
Books have been and still are the best source of general information, and this applies at least as much in the art of racehorse selection and staking as in any other field.
Author Paul Segar has produced textbooks which cover all aspects of punting. The books alone stand as a complete reference but also provide 'food for thought'. You can develop / improve your own ideas as well as learn some new techniques.
Each book is written in plain English with plenty of practical examples in each chapter. Browse the contents of each book or email for further information, if required.

The program is easy to use.
Select the number of events up to 5 then enter the likely prices.
For example 4 $2 chance are added as shown, no need for the $ sign. Click Calculate Returns for the expected return:
So a total outlay of $40 for a return of $80. Formula 1 is just a straight bet. Formula 2 is a double, 3 a treble and so on.
Taking all the formula 1, 2, 3 and 4 bets produces 15 bets and if successful $150 outlay for $800 return. Not bad going
Putting in some realistic and achievable figures on a reasonable day and taking 5 bets with all the combinations:
If you can do it outlay $310 for a return of over $2400!
Betting $1 instead, $31 outlay for $240 return.
At the other end if you can select 5 $1.30 successful bets:
You can take only the formula 3 bets, combine with formula 2 or 4 or 5. Determine your bets first, put in the likely prices and decide if the bets are worth taking or not.
